Steven Kovacs directed this semiautobiographical film about a Hungarian-American family and its struggles during the tumult of 1968 in San Francisco. Zoltan Szabo, the family's patriarch, is still struggling to realize the traditional "American Dream," the dream of wealth, comfort, and success for he and his family. Meanwhile, his son Peter is thrown out of college and promptly takes up the counter-cultural mantle, as well as a job working for a strange biker (Neil Young). A microcosm of the vast changes that America went through during the late 1960s, '68 is rollicking coming of age story, set to the music of Jimi Hendrix, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and more.

Review 1:
"...Appealing....[Kovacs] accurately conveys modes of behavior, the social casualness, [and] the political and moral openness [of the times]..."
