Andy Williams' sweet crooning belongs, along with family snapshots and hand-me-down recipes, to the temple of our hearts. His singing, although never voguish, does more for the listener than many other hyped singers. His repertoire is that of romance, sticking with slow to medium tempo ballads.

These hits display an even-voiced baritone, with a steady middle range. His emotional range stays at an even level of warmth, too, whether he's asking "Are You Sincere?" or pseudo-rocking to the likes of "I Like Your Kind of Love." His vocal equanimity tends to anchor the melodies. His greatest work is to be found in the passionate balladry and lovelorn languor of "Hawaiian Wedding Song " and "Unchained Melody." These songs, with their dulcet dolor, showcase Williams in his element.
