One of Louisiana's finest bluesmen, the guitar/fiddle player Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown recorded BOGALOOSA BOOGIE MAN in 1975 in a backwoods studio in his home state. The album is a perfect illustration of Brown's mind-boggling versatility: there are Cajun fiddle stompers here ("Bayou Stomp"), as well as country tunes ("Aztec Rose"), twangy rockers (Little Feat's "Dixie Chicken"), and of course the blues ("Someday"). While all of these styles and many more can be clearly heard on BOGALOOSA, none quite capture the charm of the album or, more importantly, the scope of Gatemouth's talent--for it's as deep and vast as the Bayou itself.
