The British Free Cinema movement from the 1950s and '60s put the emphasis on individuality as well as representation of Britain's social climate in a realistic light in order to inspire political shifts. In FREE CINEMA, the BFI assembles 16 short films representative of that artistic era, including "O Dreamland," "Together," "Wakefield Express," "We are the Lambeth Boys," One Potato Two Potato," "The Vanishing Street," "Tomorrow's Saturday," and "Gala Day."
