This quartet has walked the line between comedy, spoken word collage and out-and-out weirdness for decades, putting out album after album of witty, uproarious social commentary coupled with surreal humor. GIVE ME IMMORTALITY pushes the group towards the millennium, which is one of the many contemporary topics addressed here. Unlike some of their previous work, IMMORTALITY's numerous bizarre scenarios are united by a larger concept; the album is structured as a day in the broadcasting life of a wacky radio station, complete with news, traffic reports and commercials. While not as absurdist as their early work, this album is just as biting, packing a powerful comedic punch.
