IN MY LIFETIME is a three-disc box set with 71 tracks spanning Neil Diamond's career from 1958 to the mid-1990s. Its many rarities include several demos and acetates from the late '50s and early '60s, mono versions of Diamond's hits for Bang Records in the '60s, and tracks from an unreleased album recorded in the 1980s.

Until the release of the three-CD box set IN MY LIFETIME, no single set had ever collected all of Neil Diamond's original hit recordings. Licensing conflicts among Bang, MCA, and Columbia--the three companies for which Diamond has recorded--previously prevented the release of a definitive collection, requiring such sets as THE GREATEST HITS (1966 TO 1992) to instead substitute inferior live recordings for the originals.
