A somewhat minor label in the reggae/dub pantheon, Micron Music nonetheless released classic (if little heard) sides by some of the era's brightest during its existence from 1973-6. Featuring cuts by such names as King Tubby, Jah Stitch, I-Roy, and U-Roy, MICRON MUSIC PRESENTS: EVERY MOUTH MUST BE FED collects highlights from the label's heyday. The results are a continuous, delightfully hazy deep dub groove with many peaks: the ultrarare "Our Rights" by the Defenders, Junior Byles take on "Ain't Too Proud to Beg," and Joe Higgs's haunting "Wages of Crime" among them. With each track produced by either Lee Perry, Bunny Lee, or label co-owner Pete Weston, EVERY MOUTH is an essential overview to one Jamaican music's hidden troves.

Global Rhythm (Publication) (p.49) - "King Tubby balances the album with quality dubs and versions, but the top track is 'Wages Of Crime' by Joe Higgs, whose unique R&B voice runs sweet and smooth."
