When two musicians accidentally set fire to a carnival, they escape town and the law by stowing away on an oceanliner headed for Rio. Once on board, they meet a lovely lady hypnotized so she'll marry a man she doesn't love. It's up to them to save her. Academy Award Nominations: Best Scoring of a Musical Picture.

Scat and Hot Lips are a couple of fun-loving, trouble-prone buddies who, after setting a circus ablaze, flee to Rio de Janeiro on a boat. Also aboard is the lovely Lucia, who's being hypnotized by her greedy Aunt Catherine. Why? Catherine is trying to coerce Lucia can into an arranged marriage that would be quite lucrative for the family. Can Scat and Hot Lips save the Latin lass before it's too late?
