As the result of some seriously botched communication, an over-the-top hairdresser from Queens (Fran Drescher) gets sent to a fictional eastern bloc country as a science tutor for the children of a dour, widowed dictator (Timothy Dalton). Though she doesn't know anything about science, her charming, flamboyant manner teaches her students' father a thing or two about loosening up--and falling in love.
