This double feature presents two 1990s romantic dramedies: a scathing satire of both society and Hollywood, THE FIRST WIVES CLUB (1996) follows three women of a certain age (Goldie Hawn, Bette Midler, and Diane Keaton) who join forces to gain revenge on their youth-obsessed former husbands; while in SLIDING DOORS (1998), a beautiful young English woman (Gwyneth Paltrow) begins to live out two lives--one if she had made a train, the other if she hadn't--for an intriguing concept about fate and how simple moments have the ability to change lives.
