This breezy dramedy, afloat with music and romance, tells the tale of a pioneering group of men and women who go into radio after World War I. It seems like a winning idea since everyone has a role: Chuck Hadley (Jack Oakie) is the man with the plan, Rix Martin (John Payne) is constantly thinking ahead to the next technological possibility, and financial guru Bruce Chadwick (Cesar Romero) offers to get the whole endeavor off the ground. With Alice Faye tying everything together as the world's first singer starring on radio, it seems like the team can't miss--until they do. After financial and personal troubles get in the way of success, will these pioneers manage to get back in the saddle and deliver one great coast-to-coast broadcast to be remembered forever?
