Short stories ranging from the wildly hilarious to the deftly touching present chickens in a new light. Mark Lewis, who previously did the same for cane toads (CANE TOADS: AN UNNATURAL HISTORY) and rats (RAT) is well within his domain here, directing this eccentric, yet loving document of an unheralded species.
