As the result of an error committed by the workers on a secret government project, almost the entire population of the Earth is whisked off to another dimension. Then, things get pretty quiet.
Zac Hobson rises one morning, and finds that he is apparently the last man on Earth; a government project Zac was working on went haywire, killing nearly everyone in the process. The landscape, however, remains unsullied. Zac at first enjoys the fruits of being Earth's sole tenant -- after all, everything's free -- but soon discovers two other humans struggling to survive in this empty world...
