In a small Louisiana town in 1956, frustrated housewife Sissy contemplates running away with an old flame, gorgeous telephone lineman Parker Davidson. Sissy's precocious kids discover the flirtation and blackmail her for toys in return for their silence. Meanwhile, Parker convinces Sissy to hire his young girlfriend as a maid, while still keeping Sissy hanging on. And this is all just the beginning of the antic plot of this comic romance.
