In this classic 1957 military courtroom drama--the only film directed by actor Karl Malden--Korean War POW Major Harry Cargill (Richard Basehart) confesses to the accusations of treason levied against him. It’s only a matter of time before his case is court-martialed. Despite this, Colonel William Edwards (Richard Widmark) is so convinced of Cargill’s innocence that he decides to ignore the pressures of his superiors and defend the disgraced soldier.
