TOKYO LIVE is a concert performance from R&B vocalist extraordinaire Al Green recorded in June, 1978 at the Tokyo Music Festival, which earned him a Best Vocalist award that year. The Reverend Al Green gives a stellar performance, preaching the glory of love between a man and a woman, as in his classics "Let's Get Married", and "Love & Happiness." His intense vocal delivery can soar into a falsetto that puncutates his emotions, pulling depth out of a melody, as demonstrated in his tear-jerking rendition of "Belle." Green chuckles amiably between songs and delivers soulful renditions of his anthemic love songs such as "Tired Of Being Alone" and "Let's Stay Together" with the panache of a legend.
