Based on a story by Edgar Wallace, WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO SOLANGE? follows the secret affair between a teacher and one of his students. On a romantic boat ride in the middle of the day, Professor Henry Rossini and his student lover Elizabeth witness what they believe to be a murder perpetrated by someone dressed as a priest. Unsure at first, the couple's worst fears are confirmed when one of Elizabeth's classmates turns up dead. As more bodies start turning up, Henry finds that he is the prime suspect, forcing he and Elizabeth to hunt down the killer themselves. Moody and gruesome, with a number of shocking twists, and bolstered by a superb Ennio Morricone score, WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO SOLANGE? ranks among the best giallos of the 1970s.
