Contemporary Polish Village Music on CD

Jarek Adamów is associated with folk scene for eleven years. He graduated Music Academy ( Conservatoire ) in Poland, in Lódz. His thesis was abuot novadays reconstructions of very old Polish traditional songs. After that moment he started to make music very strongly inspired by Polish Folklore. As a member of few bands he played clarinet, but then he gradually broadened his instrumentarium including drums ( bass drum, darabuka ), sopilka ( soprano, bass ). He was very successful and won among others : I place - ' Mikolajki folkowe ' festival in Lublin 1997 I place - ' Nowa Tradycja ' festival in Warsaw 1998 I place - ' Folkowa majówka ' festival in Radom 1999 II place - ' Nowa Tradycja ' 2002, as a soloist In september 1999 he recorded debutante's CD which scored ' Folk Phonograph of the Year '. In 2000 Jarek participated in musical festival led by ' Brave Old World ' in Weimar in clarinet class of Kurt Bjorling, improving his technique. In 2003 he recorded second CD issued by Global Village Music - 'Songs of the Medieval Polish Bards' which scored Polish prize - ' Laureat of the Folk Phonograph of the Year '. He performed a concert in the best and most prestige concert hall in Poland - Witold Lutoslawski Polish Radio Concert Studio in Warsaw, all one was transmitted by Polish Radio. In 2004 he presented old ballads in Rudolstadt at Tanz and Folk Fest, festival. His concert in church was many times retransmitted by German Radio. In 2007 he issued first CD of his own label - ' Folken Music ', recorded together with very old Polsih traditional vocal ansamble ' Sami Swoi ' - ' Expedition to the lost world ' We invite all of you to visit this land of music and hear masterpieces from one of his recent projects. Pawel Brzozowski - guitarist and composer. After being member of few rock bands he became a solo artist, making music for modern theatre performances. In 2003 he published his own album titled ' Songs of Plankton ' . It wasn't a bestseller but critics wrote good about that music. Occasionaly Pawel cooperate with friends in his projects like a guitarist, composer and sound enginer.
