Description

Bikini Angel on CD

' I Cosmonauti came to my attention some years ago back through a couple of seven inch releases. There was something happening in the musicianship and exuberant performances that caught my fancy. Eventually the promise of the singles was met when a full album came along. For me, the whipped cream on the top of that cake was the US tour they mounted in 1999. On that tour, they played a great two-set show on a fine sunday afternoon/evening at the Fuel in San José. I was privileged to MC the show and record their performance. Their performance was excellent, full of their surf vacation sounds. It made me jealous of their Italian fans who can see them at will. This album is a fine collection of new songs with the spirit of innocent freedom embodied in a long past California era. The songs exhibit strong writing & excellent arranging . I Cosmoanuti's performance here is top notch too. Even the unusual cover choise of the Zombie's 'She's Not There' and is imaginative, sounding like it was written for a surfband to play. There are 5 bonus tracks, 7 songs, from their amazing show in San José. If this is your first adventure with these guys, you're in for a pleasant journey. I'm sure it won't be your last.'
