Golden Classics by Dinah Washington on CD
As the Dinah Washington discography is large, a nine-track collection, golden as it might be, is still short shrift. This was originally issued for the Everest budget series on LP, and clocks in on CD at under 26 minutes, hardly a bargain unless at a dollar store. Most of the tracks are ballads, there is a good string of three tunes -- "Ain't Misbehavin'," "Keepin' out of Mischief Now", and "Jitterbug Waltz" -- from the Fats Waller songbook, and an orchestral version of her greatest hit "What a Difference a Day Made."
