Let's Dance [Collectables] by Benny Goodman on CD
Essentially a repackaging of a collection of the same name from BMG Special Products, Let's Dance features ten songs but fails to provide any dates other than this vague assurance: "all tracks recorded prior to 1972." This wouldn't be a problem if Benny Goodman hadn't been recording since the '20s. Still, the budget price makes the omission tolerable and it does include performances of "Let's Dance" and "Stompin' at the Savoy," both well-known Goodman songs. There are certainly more thorough collections available, but for the price, this is a good introduction for a casual swing fan. ~ Wade Kergan, Rovi
