This CD has Dizzy Gillespie's classic Musicraft sides (all except "A Handfulla Gimme"), some of the most famous recordings of his long career. These influential performances (which set the standard for bebop) include "Blue 'N' Boogie" (with tenor saxophonist Dexter Gordon), seven gems with Charlie Parker (highlighted by "Groovin' High," "Hot House," and "Salt Peanuts"), a few numbers with Sonny Stitt, and nine big-band recordings, including "Our Delight," "Ray's Idea," and the futuristic "Things to Come."
