Stop That Train by Bob Marley on CD


This compilation contains 13 relatively rare tracks from Bob Marley's early albums, along with three singles from 1971: "Stop That Train," "Kaya," and "Small Axe." "Small Axe" is certainly one of the standouts of this compilation, highlighting the simple beauty of some of Marley's compositions. Also included are early versions of songs that would later become famous, notably "All in One," a medley of pieces of many future songs. The sound quality is not the greatest, though the manufacturers claim to have restored some of the tracks. None of the hiss is anywhere near distracting enough to make this unlistenable. To the contrary, while this doesn't contain any really phenomenal performances, it's enjoyable from start to finish. ~ David Lavin, Rovi
