Come a Little Closer on CD

Patchouli comes back with an inspiring collection of songs to awaken and heal the human spirit. Effortlessly blending musical styles in an organic and refreshing way, 'Come A Little Closer' is Patchouli's finest and most diverse record. Features the award winning single'The Woods,' 'Hide'and 'Love Shines.' Patchouli's 6th album COME A LITTLE CLOSER features 12 all new original songs and a brand new studio version of the award winning single 'The Woods.'Patchouli is the acoustic duo of singer songwriter Julie Patchouli and guitarist Bruce Hecksel. COME A LITTLE CLOSER was produced in collaboration with Robert Arendt of Secret Garden Recording and Production in Chicago, Illinois, who also played drums and percussion on the album. Julie Patchouli, wrote all of the lyrics, sings the lead vocal and plays acoustic guitar, upright and acoustic basses, and marimba. Bruce Hecksel, plays lead and acoustic guitar, electric guitar, acoustic bass, keyboards and sings backing vocals. Chicago area musicians, Jack Scott (flute),Airan Wright (flute, sax) and Jason Thor (trombone) also appear on selected tracks. Relix Magazine says this duo is, 'Truly delectable and original.' 'The feel is total summer with a breezy hope of sunny day,' reports the Pulse of the Twin Cities. It's no surprise that Patchouli has been a top selling acoustic duo this year. Julie Patchouli, who is often compared to Joni Mitchell, is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, alternating between guitar, string bass marimbas and flutes. Bruce Hecksel plays guitar and bass and is well known for his dramatic improvisational acoustic leads and vivid instrumental compositions. Patchouli has been selected for numerous music industry showcases, including performances at APCA, NACA, ACUI and Chicago's Mobfest. Patchouli has logged thousands of miles, played hundreds of shows, made TV appearances and has been featured on world & folk radio programs across the country.
