Wait It Out on CD

Pompeii & The Ashes is a four-piece alternative rock band from the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. The group's lineup is Eric Dorr (vocals, guitar), Lane Schneier (keyboards, bass, vocals), Sawyer Bernath (bass, guitar, vocals), and Steve Harpine (drums, percussion). Their debut album, Wait It Out, was produced and recorded by Lane Schneier and released in January 2009 on Moon Lab Records. The band was formed as an untraditional take on the traditional rock band. Unlike standard rock music, their sound is often piano-driven and flows through a series of genres that is based primarily on what the lyrical content lends itself to. Thus, their songs range from upbeat pop to folk and indie rock. They are also often known to incorporate multiple vocal harmonies and to switch roles for different songs, changing lead singers and instruments throughout their performances and recordings. The band met and formed during high school, where they all played and studied together as classical and jazz instrumentalists. Though they are all currently attending separate colleges, Pompeii & The Ashes can often be found jamming out across Philadelphia and surrounding communities.
