Spirit of Hope on CD

REVIEW: Stop! Before reading this review go directly to the title cut of this CD, "Spirit of Hope." Listen to the two minute sample & it's opening lyric, "Like a Gypsy Moth in the night I have been drawn all of my life, from the darkness to the Light. Though I've been banged up now and then, stumbled hard on some tough lesson, it's always been with Him in His Spirit of Hope," and if this song doesn't resonate with your spirit then pass on the album. But, if it affects you the way it affected me - with the ever spiritual Hammond organ tones, I think it's one of those rare songs that you wish would never end - then buy it immediately! Because this song is representative of the smart, intelligent music that permeates this album. It is filled with songs that are authentic, insightful and a joy to revel in as they creatively reveal a child of God's experience of faith in the Lord. R David opens with, "God Loves America," and it should be required listening for every patriot in the country. "Once a prayer reached into Heaven, stirred the heart of God within, to bless a land with freedom, America." In this day and age a song that traces the truth of where this land's blessings come from should be an anthem! It is simply a standout single. But, don't stop there. The Dylanesque like lyric & Chuck Berry beat of, "The Son of God," will have any latent dancing Christian coming out of the closet! I embraced this CD wholeheartedly and I would recommend it to anyone who likes their music spiritual, with a backbeat and intelligent musings. "My Lord is shelter for the weary. My Lord is endless grace and mercy. My Lord, glory hallelujah! He is the love I sing of, my Lord." Chuck Arnuld.
