Born to Ride on CD

At the age of 13, Ramon Claw was kicked out of his house and forced into 'street life.' It was this event that set the stage for the creation of the foremost artist in hip-hop history. The sound of the streets created the sound track for Claw's journey through the under world of Maryland. Hip-hop was Claw's constant companion, as he searched from county to city, state to state, seeking his golden brick road out of poverty. After traveling around the nation, working odd jobs and hustling to survive, Claw returned to Maryland with an idea. He would join up with his musically talented friends from childhood and create Gom-Jabar Records - an independent Baltimore-based hip-hop label and recording studio facility. Gom-Jabar Records released 13 underground CDs, all highly acclaimed by the region's underground hip-hop heads. Gom-Jabar Records released four group CDs from it's flagship group, Forwonoh Dragons, along with countless solo projects and mix tapes. In an effort to advance his music career and knowledge of music industry, Claw packed up his studio equipment and moved to Los Angeles. Soon after arriving on the west coast, Claw recorded his first solo project, his official 'mission statement,' Born to Ride. With production from Slouch and Jerry Nova, Born to Ride has given the world a glimpse into the next level of hip-hop. Clever straight forward lyrics and sonically pounding beats, Born to Ride paints a vivid picture of Claw's battle through the pain and struggle of growing up in the streets. After returning to Murdaland and spreading Born to Ride throughout the east coast, Claw returned to Los Angeles to record his second solo album. Billionaire Thug Era is the win-win situation that all urban music listeners have been waiting for. It also reflects a definitive advancement in Claw's styles and lyrical abilities. Billionaire Thug Era is the perfect balance between commercial and underground. Claw surpasses traditional rapper's capabilities by being both gangsta and sensitive, serious and fun. His well-crafted lyrics work on several levels while seamlessly maneuvering through the various sub-cultures and genres of hip-hop. Claw credits his success and achievements to his childhood development, witnessing first-hand the struggles of his community, and the winds of destiny.
