Randevyn Project on CD

Every now and again, an unlikely talent comes along that ignites a grassroots following, defies music industry odds and eventually earns the attention of a more mainstream audience. If Randevyn\'s album's optimistic tone is any indication of success, he\'s well on his way to claiming a position at the top of the game. Being the product of a singing preacher and an attorney, Randevyn's early life was filled with musical guidance from dad and lessons in academics and business savvy from mom. "My dad was the first singer I ever saw perform live", Randevyn recalls. "He would sing and play piano for himself; he was so good. Eventually, I grew to become the same kind of musician by default. I remember seeing newspaper articles lying around the house with pictures of my dad singing and playing. Mom would always make sure he got paid - she didn't play games even then!" After years of playing for his father's congregation in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the teenaged musician and singer affectionately known by his friends and family as "Randee", was bid farewell as he headed to Atlanta, Georgia in pursuit of a musical career. This journey wouldn't be met without the adversity of unemployment, constant label rejections and countless unsuccessful, national auditions including Fox's American Idol (Season 2). Using the early business sense drilled into him by his mother, Randevyn partnered with investor and former manager Sincere Johnson of Sin. J Entertainment to nationally release a compilation of songs he'd recorded as an independent album titled, "SolTrain". This 2005 independent effort would introduce Randevyn to a national audience as well as bolt international radio spins. In 2006, B.E.T. got wind of Randevyn's work, featuring his music on their website. Later that year, Randevyn appeared at the B.E.T. Awards with fellow Colorado native India.Arie, whom he credits as his musical mentor. Randevyn would spend the next three years refining his sound and re-defining his music. After a conversation with Arie during a 2007 tour, Randevyn decided to take an even more active role in the production of his music. It was back to the piano for the former church musician, as Randevyn began recording his musical ideas for his sophomore project, which felt more like his very first album ever. Later, he established a collaboration with record producer, Mike Phillips of The DrummerBoyz Club to release The Randevyn Project. Randevyn's unique sense of melody placement and dept of lyrical content sets him in a lane all his own. A perspective-driven album, The Randevyn Project will stir your emotions with it's bright vocals and live instruments that color around a message of hope. Even if the music industry isn't ready for a change, Randevyn has a voice that will be heard - and he's here to stay.
