Description

Nurse on CD

Nurse is Reptilica's second album - it's rough foundation is detuned plink + plank with white washed skeeze - there is some verse/chorus/verse elements but straight pop + rock has never been a desire - accidental noise and constant motion are the sonic prize - the entire record was done on low school equipment with minimal processing - the sounds are true to their Pig Nosed source and captured on your favorite flat black analog tape. Chrome Feather Future was Reptilica's first album - after it's 1999 release, a small scatter of peoples caught the vibe and gave the double up thumbs - Chicago to Belgium, Seoul to Selma...under rocks, in the trees - Reptilica was started by Ed Creagan in Chicago, Il 1998 - it was essentially a noise making project that sprouted many heads - there was never an impulse towards the machine of marketing - Rob Hyman, founder of Lens Records, had recorded the band Cheerleader, in which Ed was one of the guitarists - he heard some early Reptilica tapes and said - let's plow this into the fertile digital domain and help it grow - the music has many moods : headphone stoner slump or on a Sunday drive to visit grandma in the nursing home - there is currently no living breathing Reptilica playing shows because Ed is in and out of the hospital, but when circulation is restored he will sow the noise and reap the joy.
