His Own on CD

Richard L. Lahmann releases new piano CD. A new CD containing twelve instrumental piano selections written and performed by Richard has just been released. Richard is from Owosso, Michigan and has been active in music throughout the area for many years playing piano for wedding dinners, dinner parties, banquets, private home parties and other social events. This CD called 'His Own' contains twelve songs written and performed by Richard on piano. The style of music could be described as easy listening and ranges from a Lullaby to New Age to light Blues and Jazz. These songs were written over about a five year span and performed for weddings and dinner parties during this period. The cover: The cover shows a close-up view of a piano keyboard with a ruby ring sitting on the white keys. This ring was given to my father as a high school graduation gift. He had given it to me before he passed away. I always wear this ring when I play for musical events. Overview of some of the songs: The first song, You Are My Friend, and the fifth song, O Love Is Grand, were two songs developed by experimenting with chord progressions that are different than those you usually hear. The second song, Paige's Lullaby, was written after the birth of our first grandchild, Paige Elizabeth. The third song, Quiet of the Night, is a short version of a much longer arrangement written and used at a Conference Center to create a quiet setting before seminars. It was also used at a wedding ceremony during a poetry reading. The sixth song, Eastern Sounds, alternately mixes sounds from an Eastern style of harmony with Western or American styles of harmony. The eighth song, Take Me Way Back, is a spirited easy flowing song style similar to what you might have heard many years ago. The tenth song, is an intense, slow song touching the mood of loneliness and solitude. The eleventh and twelfth songs are a Blues and Jazz song respectively. The Jazz song has caught the attention of a number of guests at many of the events that I perform for.
