Americana on CD

Rick Diaz, Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist/Producer/Actor releases a five song CD to his upcoming album'Americana'. Tracks include 'Dreams of Gold,' the title track to the upcoming feature Western movie, he will co star in. Also featured are 'We're All Americans', a patriotic Folk/ Rock anthem. The album also includes the beautiful haunting ballad 'The Lady of The Lake,' Lake Tahoe's theme song and from the upcoming film'The Long Road Home' and 'Full Count,' a rousing tribute to our national pastime. The album is rounded out with the tender love song 'Just You and Me' which features a beautiful string arrangement by Parmer Fuller and the flute solo of John Rekevics, who also did the horn arrangements,on tracks three and four. The first two cuts, are highlighted by the tasty work of guitarist Fred Benidetti, with Tripp Sprague adding a great harmonica track on Dreams of Gold. The artist takes you on a personal journey, as he shares his on going love affair with Lake Tahoe. Dreams of Gold, is a soulful mix of Folk and Country with a hard drving beat. You can hear the man, looking back on the dreams of his youth, wondering if there's still time to grab that gold ring. His lyrics are honest and pure, to understand them, is to know the man. Once asked, Who was your biggest influence in becoming an entertainer?'Glen Campbell' he quickly responded. I've had several influneces, but I originally wanted to write songs. After meeting Glen, in Lake Tahoe when I was a kid, I was knocked out by his show, and how much fun he had performing. I've gotten to know him pretty well, and we have a special bond and friendship that I'm most proud of. The same goes for guitarist James Burton, and Carl Jackson who played in Glen's band when I first met him. I don't try to copy anyone, I do my own thing. These guys have definitely made an impact on me, not just musically but personally as well. ' Rick's rich baritone vocals, make this album for for a very easy listen on the ears. His soulful blend of Pop, Country,Folk, and Rock have given him a universally appealing sound. 'Americana' is about living out your dreams, and hope for the future. All the things, that make America Great ! Robin Lockwood.
