Sketchtown on CD

RIDE THE MOLE is a four piece out of Astoria that delivers basic rhythm-heavy rock tunes that feature strong pop melodies. The guitar duo of Marc Scarano and John Filion trade off on lead vocal duties which made for an interesting set when I saw them at the Luna Lounge. Bassist Ken [Ted] Kersten and drummer Peter Walsh kept everything nice and tight with that rock-steady beat so the twin guitars could get rambunctious. This is music the crowd was either bopping their heads or tapping their toes to. Not that easy to achieve in this town. -Jeff Rey, NEON Magazine They were pretty damn great. RTM aren't breaking new ground or anything, but they've got great hooks and know how to play. That alone should set them apart from most bands around today. -Rob Browning, The Spinning Room Ride the Mole. What the f**k kinda band name is that? What about 'Whack-A-Mole?' Now, that was a good game. You got that rubber hammer and you'd pop those little dirt-dogs good on the head. They'd squeal, then you'd hit another, and another. Soon you'd be whacking away. Hitting them moles for being bad. For not tying their shoes. For not eating all their vegetables. For wetting the bed. Bad moles! Bad! You'll pay. Oh, sorry. Yes, Ride the Mole is a band from Queens. They are funny/stupid, clever/stupid and melodic/stupid. Which means I like it. But I'm still not sure what riding a mole means. -George Tabb, NY Press.
