Block Island Days on CD

Rob Raroux is a Connecticut-based singer-songwriter who recently released his first album, 'Block Island Days', a heartfelt tribute to the beloved island off the Rhode Island coast which The Nature Conservancy calls 'one of the last great places on earth'. The recording boasts an all-star cast of New England-based musicians from the folk circuit and beyond, including Handy Award-winning blues guitarist Duke Robillard, and steel guitarist Buddy Cage, of the New Riders of the Purple Sage. (Both artists have recording credits with Bob Dylan. Cage appears on 'Blood on the Tracks', while Robillard appears on 'Time Out of Mind'.) Superior songwriting, superbly-spirited performances, and quality studio production all combine to regale the listener in this journey of eclectic musical styles which range from traditional folk to blues to contemplative instrumental to rock n' roll. Says The Block Island Times, in a recent review: 'Even if it weren't the only album of songs about Block Island, 'Block Island Days' would still be worth buying.' The album booklet also includes Rob's beautiful original artistic illustrations of the song lyrics, featuring depictions of many beloved scenes on the Island. A perfect memento of a wonderful place, both for those who have visited there as well as for those who wish they could!
