[ THIS CD HAS LIMITED QUANTITIES / NEARLY OUT OF PRINT] Robert Deeble's imagery and approach this album have conjured such influences as James William Hindle, Josh Rouse, Leonard Cohen and Nick Drake. This was the debut release for Robert Deeble which included folk heroine Victoria Williams whose on a landmark duet ('Rock A Bye') with Robert gained critical acclaim for the record. Also notable to this recording was the partnership of Stephen Hodges (drummer for Tom Waits) who had a significant role in producing the album. The album was released and re-released on multiple occasions and has sold over 7,000 copies. It was first released in 1995 by Robert under the Liberation Music label. It was re-released by Innocent Media in 1998 and had it's art work edited at the objection of the label. Following claims by Robert that Innocent Media failed to obligate itself to it's contractual agreements, the album returned to Liberation Music was re-released again in 1999 in it's original booklet. This record was followed years later by 'Earthside Down,' (Jackson Rubio), which was much darker in tone, 'Thirteen Stories' (Pete Records/Fractured discs), and This Bar Has No One Left (Fractured Discs). Deeble has supported shows for Low, IDA The Kingsbury Manx, Pedro The Lion, Shannon Wright, Victoria Williams, Michelle Shocked, Songs: Ohia, Rosie Thomas, The Vigilantes of Love, Over The Rhine and Steppenwolf (yes Steppenwolf...). He currently resides in Seattle Washington.
