17 Simple Songs on CD

Roy Lee Evans is a solo recording artist living in Jacksonville Florida. About 10 years ago he began a collaboration with a very talented sound engineer named Garf Cooper. The result is an extensive, completely original work of guitar rock, rock ballads, and rockin blues called 17 Simple Songs. During the sessions, Evans kept reminding himself to keep it simple and not to overproduce the music. Hence the title of the collection. Evans started playing music in his early teens studying music theory and classical string instruments. His first love was the classic rock music of Jimi Hendrix,The Rolling Stones, and The Allman Brothers, however, and he quickly switched to the electric guitar. Some of the early influences can still be heard in his music. Banner Thomas, one of the founding members of the band Molly Hatchet (who now plays with Big Engine), when hearing the Evans song 'Love Letter' remarked,'That sounds like Dickie Betts meets Johann Sebastian Bach.' Evans is a very active individual who loves to workout, practice Tai Chi, and to ride his Indian Motorcycle. He and Garf Cooper are continuing their work together. They should have some great new material to release soon.
