History's Great Battles: Medieval — Xbox 360
History's Great Battles: Medieval is a tactical war game set during the Hundred Years War. You will control either the English or French forces in separate campaigns, allowing you to fight on behalf of such historical figures as Henry V or Joan of Arc. Throughout each campaign, you'll be able to pick and choose which missions to undertake on a quest map. Once you've decided on a locale, you'll be taken to an army camp to recruit, train, and equip your troops before battle. The next phase involves deploying your troops on the terrain, after which the battle will commence in real time.
At any point during battle, you can pause the game to issue orders. You'll also be able to control up to 20 squads simultaneously, each consisting of infantry, cavalry, and archers. Squads can earn experience in battle and are customizable with an assortment of armor, weapons, and fighting styles. Additional strategy options come into play with battle cards, allowing you to influence the outcome in various ways depending on the types of cards brought into battle.
