Inspired by games in the Cooking Mama series, Imagine: Master Chef has players preparing various meals by engaging in cooking-themed mini-games. Young Lisa wants to impress her out-of-town father by cooking him a special meal. This kicks off a surreal story that features talking stuffed animals and trips to the friendly neighborhood of Happy Town. The crux of the gameplay, however, is cooking meals at a leisurely pace without the added pressure of a timer. Chopping, baking, stirring, frying, and so forth are accomplished with the stylus as players prepare a total of 65 recipes. Helping Lisa throughout her culinary career is a professional chef named Rachel Jones, who gently explains which ingredients and steps are involved to create a masterpiece meal. Five additional mini-games can be unlocked as you progress, from a cooking quiz and dishwashing activity to themed variants on memory and darts.
