A talented singer and guitarist who recorded for a handful of legendary mid-West record labels in the 1950s, John Brim - accompanied by his musician wife Grace - made some of the most indispensable recordings of classic down-home Chicago blues during the glory days of the 1950s. This CD contains the complete recordings as issued by John and Grace from 1950-1953, including his most well-known song "Tough Times" (a steady seller even though it failed to chart nationally) and "Rattlesnake," which could have been an even bigger hit, but was withdrawn by the Chess Brothers when they were legally threatened by Don Robey over the song's similarity to "Hound Dog".
