Adam is not only a fantastic songwriter but is gonna help restore the sf bay to what it once was. Adam has a heavy early Wilco vibe, maybe some Counting Crows in the vocals rhythmic patterning. We are going to fast on the trail to see Adam play... CHECK THIS KID OUT, something to say...' - Reverend Rob, fogcitymusic.com 'I'm DJ Ottic aka Gerd Hoeschen, presenter of the German/European alternative radioshow Alooga. I'm interested in playing your release, 'world of strangers', on my show. I'm looking forward to playing your release.' - DJ Ottic aka Gerd Hoeschen, host of 'Alooga Radio', Sinzig, Germany ''World of strangers' is a solid album, other than the occasional feedback, which I imagine sounds pretty cool drunk. I'm not normally into guy's voices, so consider it a compliment that I bought your CD :) Have a great day!' - Kriste Matrisch, fan ___ Adam Burnett grew up in the Los Angeles area playing music since roughly the age of seven. Following a childhood of classically trained violin mixed with a steady diet of Beatles, Elvis & Punk 45's, Burnett was a natural fit for guitar & found his first axe in a pawn shop in West L.A. at the age of 12 for $100. Exploring musical genres of the day including Rock, Punk, Metal, & early Hip-Hop, hanging around on Susnet Boulevard looking for Slash, Burnett played in garage bands with friends through middle & high school including one legendary eighth-grade lunchtime auditorium show by Savage (it was the 80's o.k.) which was critiqued by a fellow classmate as simply 'way too loud.' After miserable high school years in the L.A. public school system, Burnett escaped to college with some baggage & a few skeletons in his closet. He began to explore his own song writing with new found friends, an array of instruments & 4-track recording in a makeshift home studio that was in reality nothing but his closet. After a few gigs in L.A. sitting in with The Greyhounds it was made obvious that Burnett did in fact not play the saxophone well & has since evolved into an Alternative Rock/Pop singer/songwriter to be reckoned with. Drawing on experiences of love, good times & a steady paycheck mixed with bouts of scraping unemployment, confusion & loss while traveling & searching for something or someone, we find Burnett in San Francisco with his 4-track writing, performing, & recording music in a creaky old apartment at the end of The 37 Burnett bus line. Coincidence? Fate. Here we are given his self-produced first recordings found on 'the veracity' and 'world of strangers'. Some of these songs caught the ears of Jerry Boxley (singer/songwriter, toured w/John Wesley Harding) & Hershel Berry (produced The Soul of John Black, No Mayo Records) who teamed up with Burnett on bass & drums in 2004 to form 'The 37 Burnett' & bring the songs new life in a live setting. Sarah Scott joined up to round out the gang of four on keyboards & additional vocals in 2005. The band has recently completed work on a new self-produced EP also available through CD Baby.
