Crossing on CD

A Review from George Grove (Banjo Player- Kingston Trio) Andy Elliott is a rare and gifted talent whose lyrical and musical voice commands recognition. His songs range from the whimsical to the ultra-serious, touching humanity right in the center of reality. I have personally recorded seven of Andy\'s well crafted songs, on two different projects. On a recording entitled Where Have All the Flowers Gone? A Vietnam Veteran\'s Memorial Album, Andy was given a scenario with regards to either a real life occurrence from the Viet Nam war or a situational accounting of the emotions generated by that war, and his songs were not only essential to the successful production of that project but actually became the focal point of the project. On my solo CD entitled In the Middle of a Life, I recorded three of Andy\'s songs. I continue to beg him for anything and everything he writes, and I expect to continue recording his songs on my future CDs. Although one may have never met Andy, his songs command instant respect for him and encourage intimate friendship with him. The insights he brings to song writing, both in the subject matter and the musical treatment, invoke that reaction. I am proud to call Andy my friend, and I never cease to be amazed at his clever and insightful writing. Sincerely, George Grove The Kingston Trio.
