Going to Kansaquerque on CD

A new folk-rock mutation from the American Southwest, AR and the Ramblin' Rats are the incarnation of an age-old fantasy. AR has been crafting tunes for as long as he can remember. But up to now his songs have been heard in public only at the Albuquerque Folk Festival (Story Telling Venue) and a few neighborhood bars, prisons, and coffee houses. This Year of the Rat marks a new departure for the mega-rodent, un-caged and emerging from the shadows. "Going to Kansaquerque" really owes it's existence to two Apple corporations. One brought us The Beatles, and the other makes computers that let "almost any half-wit" produce a CD. (AR particularly wants to thank John and Yoko/The Fab Four for the love, joy, inspiration, and spiritual guidance they unwittingly provided him over the years.) Like Ringo of the aforementioned Mop-Tops, AR could not have made K-Q without a lot of help from his friends. The R-Rats features: lifetime collaborator Danny "The Simonizer" Simon, sidewalk-rock folk artist Martin "Fast Heart Mart" Stamper, and folk hipsters Jim Schwar and Thom Parrott, borrowed from the band "PSSST!" (Check out Martin and Thom's music elsewhere on CD Baby!) AR hopes this humble collection of tunes about love and pain, peace and war, dreams, nightmares, and places of the heart touches the fancy of a broad audience. Another unabashed aim is to peddle song publishing and recording rights to some bottomless pit of wealth and charity--and earn enough $$$ to do this again.
