Waking Up Tunes on CD

CD RELEASE DATE: January 21, 2005 A Sting-A-Bee-Back Records production (our first!) * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Seattle native Arthur Pinchev, former director of Camp Alonim in Simi Valley, California, has been writing songs for the past 30 years. The pieces on this CD represent the first commercially available recordings of his compositions. Each song features Arthur's singing and guitar playing. Michael Gill has crafted arrangements of the songs that feature fine work by top-tier studio musicians from the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, and on one track ('Drink to Life'), singers and percussionists from Nigeria and Ghana. Several of the musicians on the album have themselves enjoyed Arthur's music over the years. Others are new fans. A portion of profits from sale of this CD will continue to benefit the Friends of David Anderson Africa Trust. Each CD is packaged in a (relatively) environment-friendly cardboard Digipak® with a minimum of plastic. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 'Once in a while, you come across a composer whose music engages your intellect and touches your heart. Pinchev's music is reflective, inspiring and refreshing. His crisp lyrics evoke lively images; his music plays in one's mind, inviting each of us to share in his artful journey or imagine one of our own.' Eddie Westerman Seattle, Washington Here are the artist's comments about the project: 'The 13 songs on this album are for me like entries in a journal describing moments in my life. Although I have had many opportunities over the years to share my music, I am especially excited to present these songs in this format. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.' Arthur Pinchev Los Angeles, California.
