There are few Artists on the scene today that can be compared to the multi-talented sensation, Baatin. He is an accomplished Musician/Vocalist that has performed in Atlanta and all over the USA for many years. Baatin is an ex member of The Original P-Funk / Parliament-Funkadelic and been music director for Otis Redding III [Son of the late Soul legend: Otis Redding]. He has headlined regional festivals and has opened concerts for the likes of Roy Ayers, Ronnie Laws, Dave Brubek and James Brown. He has also performed internationally in Canada, Jamaica, Bahamas, Mexico and South Africa [2001 Capetown Jazz Festival]. His music can be described as an appealing mixture of Jazz, Funk, R&B, and the Blues. Having studied with master musicians in Macon GA during the 70s and armed with a B.A. degree in Sociology with a concentration in ethnomusicology.His debut CD "Sunday Brunch" received critical acclaim in numerous major publications from around the world including Ebony Magazine and "The Pittsburgh Gazette". Music from this CD has been used by TNT networks NBA playoffs program in 2001. It was also used by Delta Airlines in one of their CNN-In-flight presentations. It is still, six years after it's release, enjoying significant airplay overseas .His claim to fame is the ability to sing and play several musical instruments well. On a typical show Baatin plays: Guitar: You can hear influences of Jimi Hendrix, George Benson and Larry Carlton. Saxophone: Influenced by John Coltrane, Stanley Turrentine and of course Maceo Parker of James Browns band.Piano/Keyboards: George Duke, Joe Sample, Les McCann and McCoy Tyner are strong influences.Vocals: He also has a distinctively unique baritone voice that has been likened to Lou Rawls and Johnny Hartman.
