Slow Turn on CD

In today's world of alternative rock sub-genres, Best Before Yesterday stands out with a distinctive sound that combines the best aspects of many styles. Taking influence from bands such as Taking Back Sunday, Fall Out Boy, Yellowcard and others, their music draws from the genres of emo rock, pop punk and indie rock. Combining emotional lyrics with catchy pop rock hooks and the energy of emo/punk rock, Best Before Yesterday delivers music that is both memorable and unique. Formed in 2004 outside Charlotte, NC, the band's stage performances are characterized by high levels of energy as well humorous stage antics with emphasis on crowd participation. Having played numerous shows in southeastern and eastern United States, sharing the stage with bands such as The Ataris, Best Before Yesterday has moved it's way up the underground music scene and landed two wins at radio sponsored Battle Of The Bands competitions (1st Place: 96.5 WOXL BOTB, 2nd Place: Rock The Vote BOTB). With a strong and ever growing regional as well as national fan base they are gearing up for an extensive fall 2007 tour. This past spring saw Best Before Yesterday in the studio with producer Patrick Boyd (CHP Audio, Charlotte) to record their self-released debut, 'A Slow Turn,' which has already sold nearly a thousand copies since it's release just weeks ago in June 2007. The songs highlight the group's distinguishing musical compositions, rich in emotion and dynamic in sound. Members Colin O'Shea (guitar/vocals), Brett Maney (drums) and Robbie Thornton (bass) agree that together they show no signs of slowing down and are readily approaching the day when they will in fact quit their day jobs.
