Bluegrass is one of the few American art forms. Much like jazz music, it was born in America and like jazz, the players are masters of their instruments. They spend their lives perfecting techniques the founders of the music introduced. This compilation is about the roots of bluegrass. It includes several founders of the genre including Tony Rice, Mac Wiseman, Jimmy Martin, Ricky Skaggs, the Osborne Brothers, Jim & Jesse and many others. It was these members, along with Bill Monroe and a handful of others, that created a genre that helped mold and shape country music.
