Cape Cod Soundscapes 6: September Crickets on CD

A 61-minute recording of a chorus of crickets. To many of us the sound of crickets in September means the arrival of our favorite time of year on Cape Cod. The water is cooling yet remains entirely swimmable. The peak crowds of August are gone but the activities and cultural events continue unabated. The neighborhoods are quiet again of cars and banging screen doors, but are no less lively. With no music or artificial elements, the sound of crickets on this recording begins with a modest chorus and progresses to a full symhpony, to make an organic audio soundtrack that's perfect for relaxing, sleeping, meditating, or as a gift for your favorite homesick Cape Codder. The Cape Cod Soundscapes Series is drawn from the field recordings of Christopher Seufert and the Mooncusser Films audio archive. Mooncusser Films is an entirely independent film and video production company specializing in documentaries, educational programs, music video, and promotional projects. In addition to projects of their own design, the company has also been lucky enough to work all over the world with a great variety of people, including journalist Walter Cronkite, musician Suzanne Vega, the late illustrator Edward Gorey, actress Julie Harris, and filmmaker Al Maysles.
