This process allows the tape playback to sound closer to the output of the mixing console than ever before. It yields better separation, less distortion and a solidity to the sound. The band’s second live double album, Skull & Roses was their best-selling album until the compilation Skeletons From The Closet was released in 1974. Originally, the band wanted the album’s title to be “Skull F***,” but Warner Bros refused, so the album was left without an official title. As a result, it has lovingly become known as Skull And Roses due to its famous cover art.
