Great Distraction on CD

This 5 member rock 'n roll band has crafted their sound into a sonic rocking soundscape. The One Light Out sound has beamed out of San Francisco and Oakland where the band lives. Two guitars, bass, drums, vocals and three part harmonies take this band beyond. A blend of driving crunchy guitars ala Queens of the Stone Age/Janes Addiction, melodic vocals a kin to AudioSlave, clean chimey indie guitars somewhere near a Nada Surf sound, drippy fuzzy textures that are Smashing Pumpkinsesque and just enough cerebral insight to liken them to Radiohead. The new full length CD 'The Great Distraction' is their 3rd release in less than 2 years. Produced once again by Ian Sefchick (formerly of Creeper Lagoon now leading On the Speakers), the production has taken the bands sound to new heights. Not afraid to lay it on the line live, One Light Out takes the crowd through it's set like a pit bull playing with a stuffed bunny, slowly sinking it's teeth all the way in and then tearing it to shreds. A major 300 station college campaign is underway as of 9/22/03 (station reporting done by Planetary Group of Boston). This is the 3rd time the band has tracked their College radio success. Each time reaching many top 30 play lists and receiving hundreds of spots in regular rotation all across the country (including Canada). Local Bay Area commercial station LIVE 105 FM has spun the band several times on the hot upcoming band show 'Soundcheck'. Also the band has been in head to head band competitions on-air for opening slots at giant gigs sponsored by LIVE 105 for major acts like the White Stripes, Janes Addiction, Foo Fighters, and the Donnas to name a few. has had thousands of hits, streams and downloads over the last two years. The band is staying focused on what they need to do to take themselves on the road while still playing in and around the Bay Area.....
