Description
The Man Who Invented Casual on CD
Born in Pennsylvania in 1912, Perry Como began his working life as a barber with his own business, often singing as he clipped! At the urging of his customers, he auditioned for the Freddy Carlone touring band and his singing career was launched. This 25 track compilation presents many of Como's classic songs from his peak period between 1949-51 when he had his own 15 minute radio show, and was one of the world's top crooners alongside Bing Crosby (who gave him the "casual" tag of the title), Frank Sinatra and Dick Haymes.
