Four Year Experiment on CD

RockReviews.info: '...the whole album is a joy to listen...I strongly recommend 'The Four Year Experiment' to every folk rock listener.' - MAGE (February 13th, 2006) Prospero's Daughter is an Iowa band specializing in a blend of folk-rock influenced by Cat Stevens, Neil Young, Red Hot Chile Peppers, and U2. Having played together for seven years, the guys pick up well on each other's cues. The band presents a crisp blend of acoustic and electric sounds. The music is centered on a driving rhythm acoustic guitar, with strong bass lines for backbone, and soaring electric lead. The French background of Julien LeVély infuses a unique sound in the vocals. A wide range of emotion and content is presented in the CD, "The Four Year Experiment". The songs range from the pictorial essay on city life, "Streets of LA", to the fun dance song, "Tube-Top Baby". The story of eleven illegal immigrants found dead in a grain rail-car in Denison, Iowa is told in, "Eleven". The strength in an Iowa family is shown in, "Void In My Soul", dealing with grief over the loss of their wife/mother. November 2006, the band played a short set at a major venue. The Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville, TN, hosted a fund raiser for St. Jude Children's Hospital. The band has had regional success leading up to the distribution on CDBaby.com. Several songs were chosen to be played on the public radio station, KUNI, on Bob Dorr's Friday night show "Down on the Corner". The song, "Streets of LA", was chosen for the final credits for a submission to the National Film Challenge, 2006. The short film, "Whispers", was submitted by Eastern DMA Productions of Cedar Rapids, IA. Prospero's Daughter is looking for a lable to produce and/or promote their second album. Responding to suggestions from our fans, thirteen songs have been forged to create a dynamic, upbeat sound. The diverse backgounds of the members is reflected in the far reaching sounds of the album. The album can be previewed in it's initial stages on the MySpace profile linked. If you like what you hear, and you have any connections, give us a boost!
